Human, all too human -- News-Digests.Com re-launches

Human news aggregation operation expands to multiple publications.

PRWEB) June 8, 2004--News aggregation is big business, and there's a lot to be said for automation. The staff of News-Digests.Com has a different take on it. Their motto is "human editors for what interests you."

The site re-launched this weekend, continuing its flagship publication, Rational Review News Digest, and adding "conservative" and "progressive" digests to its libertarian base.

"Over time, we noticed trends with RRND," says publisher Thomas L. Knapp. "Our content base was expanding outside of the libertarian niche, and so was our readership. We decided it was time to re-purpose our aggregation work to other tasks."

News-Digests.Com launched in early March, but quickly shut down for re-tooling after its creators decided it "wasn't quite ready for prime time." "We're still adding the bells and whistles," says Knapp. "RSS feeds are being tweaked. The next round of publications is up in the air. But our political family of publications is ready to roll out properly."

Each News-Digests.Com publication is available in web and email editions, with RSS already online for RRND and expected soon for the others.

What's special about News-Digests.Com? Knapp says it's the human touch. "We don't use scripts and bots to aggregate. We produce a more discrete product, organized for our readership's convenience and targeted to their interests to a degree that no automated process can compete with."

According to Knapp, RRND's subscribers include readers from across the political spectrum, around the world and through all walks of life. "We have readers on every continent except Antarctica. A surprisingly large bloc of our readers work for newspapers, radio stations and television networks. Another large bloc consists of government employees -- we're more comprehensive than the Defense Department's 'Early Bird.'"

The site's three publications -- soon to be joined by three more -- are available at:
