New Illustrated Children's Book Captures The Chaos And Hilarity Of What A BLM Mustang Does To His Adopted Family And Ranch

Yoder, CO (PRWEB) June 8, 2004 -- Amid all of the popularity generated by the new horse movies produced in just the last two-to-three years and the new excitement in the thoroughbred arena surrounding a beloved race horse named Smarty Jones, a new children's book was just released by PublishAmerica about a captured BLM mustang named Bucky.

This mustang is the narrator and star of this 40-page, full color-illustrated children's story. Buckaroo or "Bucky" as he is known by his humans, is a very real, wild mustang who was captured, broken to ride, and adopted by his new family at the Really Cool Ranch. He is a black and white appaloosa who, from the moment he gets home to his ranch, begins causing havoc and chaos as he harasses the various animals that he finds living at his new home. He describes his delight at making the dogs and pigs "bark", letting out the chickens, and trying to make the sheep run from him. He has a hilarious encounter with a skunk he tries to chase and he runs with the dogs on his "racetrack". He also talks about sneaking drinks of his human's coffee and why it makes him want to run fast.

He chews on the farm vehicles and chases his favorite truck. He speaks of always getting into trouble with his humans with great humor, equine indignation, and a grandiose sense of himself. Bucky finds trouble anywhere he can possibly get into it and really doesn't "get" why his humans are sometimes aggravated with him. He tells his tale with an ornery sense of fun and is sure to delight any child (or adult) who loves horses and can laugh at the antics of a master troublemaker.

The book was written and illustrated by Shellie Renee Kirby, a horse-crazy writer and photographer, who lives on a small ranch SE of Colorado Springs. She is currently building an "Earthship" along with her husband, Mark. They have a daughter, Jessica, who is working and attending college. They have a variety of animals and she is currently writing a full-length horse novel for all ages.
