Cybercrime Expert Named Lifetime TVs Champion For Change
Lifetime TV awarded Jayne A. Hitchcock their Champion For Change award for the month of June 2004 for her selfless work in the field of cybercrime.
(PRWEB) June 8, 2004 --Jayne Hitchcock, noted cybercrime expert, has been named Lifetime TVs Champion For Change" for June 2004. Hitchcock, hailed as an Internet superheroine," was pleasantly surprised when Lifetime called to interview her. June is Internet Safety Month.

WHOA (Working to Halt Online Abuse at www.haltabuse.org) is an online safety organization that she has been president of since 1997. An all-volunteer organization, WHOA helps online victims of stalking and harassment.

Lifetime TV selected Hitchcock not only for her work with WHOA, but for her diligence in pursuing her cyberstalkers and getting the laws changed in 44 states so that cyberstalking and online harassment are now a crime.
I began with Maryland, the state I lived in when I was cyberstalked, and recently saw Washington pass their law," she says. As soon as get the last six states and D.C. passed, Ill work on a federal cyberstalking law. Then, who knows?"

Because of her expertise, she penned Net Crimes & Misdemeanors: Outmaneuvering the Spammers, Swindlers, and Stalkers Who Are Targeting You Online (www.netcrimes.net) and is currently working on a second edition, as well as two other cybercrime-related books. Net Crimes was her seventh book.
