RFID Onsite Workshop
eSmart Source has recently announced Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) workshop program. This 2 days program is designed to bring companies up to speed quickly on all aspects of RFID and to help them evaluate vendors, develop a business case, calculate ROI and plan successful RFID pilots and deployments.
Sunnyvale (PRWEB) June 8, 2004 -- Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a technology that enables the electronic labeling and wireless identification of objects using radio frequency communications .RFID is also a subset of the broader area of Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) technologies, which include barcode, optical character recognition and infrared identification systems. An RFID tag, containing an electronic chip, stores data on the product within which it is embedded. A reader (fixed, mobile or handheld) is used to retrieve the information. As a wireless technology, RFID is effective in manufacturing as it enables accurate and real-time tracking of inventory by companies throughout an entire supply chain without the need for line-of-sight tags and readers (as in the case of bar code scanning).
This is the reason why world's largest retailer Wal-Mart(http://www.walmart.com/) and others like Target(http://www.target.com), Albertsons (http://www.albertsons.com/) are looking at RFID technology to eliminate inefficiency in todays supply chain.
This 2 days program is designed to bring companies up to speed quickly on all aspects of RFID and to help them evaluate vendors, develop a business case, calculate ROI and plan successful RFID pilots and deployments. The first day's program is designed for management executives and functional experts while the second day will focus on technology, implementation and integration.
In addition to detailed information presented by our team, companies will be able to learn about RFID technology by live demonstration at their site. Moreover in addition to training material companies will be able to keep RFID hardware (different tags, reader) and sample demo applications.
