(PRWEB) June 11, 2004 -- Holy Hip Hop: Taking the Gospel to the Streets Distributed by EMI Gospel - In-Stores: June 29, 2004 Holy Hip Hop "Taking The Gospel to the Streets" is an effective CD, combining songs that offer spiritual fare for all tastes.
For those that appreciate the bombastic Southern production skills of Lil Jon, Ziklag's "Raw and Uncut," is a winner. If you close your eyes, you can almost see this group riding the streets of Decatur, Georgia where this type of music can be heard blaring from cars from the dawn of day to the wee hours of the night. Shei Atkins "Praise Him" is a hip-shaking groove that will have you dancing before you realize this vocalist is getting her praise on. Fans of Tweet and Beyonce' will appreciate this track. Izreal"s "Focus" will appeal to those who go through some serious drama before coming to Christ.
If you"re looking for some soul with your music, R. Jones' "I Pray" is what you"re looking for on this CD. This artist serves up sincerity reminiscent of R. Kelly. "You and Me" by Canton Jones is the romantic's choice on this album. Jones sings of his love relationship with the Lord as convincingly as Musiq sings of his doomed love affairs with friends turned girlfriends. FTF's "Fireproof," is a little something for those woadies from LA Louisiana that is. While there are those who don't believe in the message of holy hip hop, spoken word artist Mariaha Markel shows love for the music, praising the artists who are ministering to the youthful masses a good way to end a CD that is truly taking gospel to the streets. - By J.
