Sew Pretty, a new line of chic handbags and accessories, offers haute couture design without the haute couture price
Raquel Caruso, designer and proprietress of Sew Pretty, creates color splashed one-of-a-kind and limited edition handbags and accessories inspired by vintage design and the beautiful island that she comes from-the Dominican Republic.
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 12, 2004 -- Self-taught, Raquel began creating her handbags from her studio in Nutley, NJ after receiving a sewing machine as a gift a few years ago. She does not use patterns, preferring to free-cut the fabric for each individual bag. This ensures that each will have its own unique structure and characteristics. It is important to me that when a person purchases one of my designs, they can be proud to carry an original piece that very few people have, Raquel says.
Employing a variety of fabrics, including vintage and upholstery material, Sew Pretty bags come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from tote to clutch. Her popular basic handbag can also be custom made in two different sizes from an ever-changing selection of fabrics. Most of the bags come accented with colorful buttons or one of her popular fabric flower pins, which are sold as separate accessories as well.
Raquel is currently developing a line of bridal accessories to debut in late summer 2004 and has line of accessories for the home and a selection of infant goods in the works. Sew Pretty handbags and accessories can be found online at www.sewprettyonline.com. Her designs can be seen in person at trade shows and arts and crafts fairs throughout New Jersey and New York; a consistently updated list of public appearances can be found on the website.
