Plymouth, MN (PRWEB) June 13, 2004 -- Studio Data Products is introducing their professional, low speed, high-accuracy CD burning system to the general computer market. The professional system achieves superior performance through a custom-tuned writing mechanism and specially formulated blank media.
The CD.1 was initially developed for the recording industry, where errors cannot be tolerated on million-selling recording masters. It is designed for ultra-low error rates and a high degree of consistency when compared to common CD recorders and media combinations.
The SCSI II CD.1 drive burns at rates of 1x and 2x for precision pit patterns on the disc. The complimentary M74/M80 media was custom formulated by Taiyo Yuden specifically for use with the CD.1. The media are optimized for minimum error rates at 1x and 2x when used with the drive. The writing surface of each disc has a peel-off layer to protect the surface from dirt and scratches. The M74/M80 media is also has a very long shelf life; greater than 300 years at 25C and 50% relative humidity.
The CD.1 drive is integrated into a ruggedized industrial enclosure and uses an isolated power supply. The laser has been custom tuned for the M70/M80 blank media.
The CD.1 sells for $4000. The M74/M80 media sell for $12/$15 each available in minimum quantities of fifty.
