Her web site and book provides information regarding her lung condition that she emphatically states was caused by exposure to Environmental Tobacco Smoke as a child and young adult. Colvin is the niece of the late famous Marimba BandLeader Julius Wechter. The famous Marimba player died of Lung Cancer in the late 1990's. Colvin has a message for the music and entertainment industry as well as a message for parents and adults worldwide. "It's time that children stop being exposed to Environmental Tobacco Smoke, also known as "Secondhand Smoke". As a child, loved ones smoked both cigarettes and cigars in her presence on a regular basis. She complained but to no avail. Now they are dead and gone and she is left with a painful reminder.

"Second hand smoke is a major cause of children's illness -- yet 85% of adults who smoke and who live with a child do not ensure that the child is not exposed to the smoke from their cigarettes."
