New York, New York (PRWEB) June 16, 2004
June 16, 2004 - Just in time for summer fun, graduation, Pride, or any reason to celebrate 'being free to be' and 'in control' in a fun and exuberant way, New York-born TABORAH (formerly of Italy's hit group Blackwood) is back in the spotlight. She is doing it her way with her self-penned "I AM (The Rising)", with the help of noted remixer-producer Johnny Rocks. Her lyrics proclaim, "I AM GOING TO MAKE MY OWN SET OF RULES AND BE JUST WHO I WANT TO BE," and they are hitting a rhythmic chord with female fans of all ages, DJs, clubland, and others who have a burning desire to rise up, be empowered and proclaim independence! "I AM (The Rising)", a 'feel good' song, is scheduled for release as a maxi-single, just in time for summer parties.
Johnny Rocks, recently nominated for a New York Metro Achievement In Radio Award for best Mix Show and credited for having the longest running mixshow in the country, has sprinkled his remixing magic on vocal hits for Cher, B2K and Celine Dion. In this effort, he also extends his producing talents, a natural follow-up to his most critically acclaimed work on the Madonna GHV2 Megamix which sent dancing feet into a frenzy. Johnny Rocks is famed for working the mix while respecting the vocals, and he is sure to do it again in his collaboration with Taborahs'
"I AM (The Rising)". Of special note is his 'Fire Island Sunrise Club Mix', a summer must-have!
Taborah found success with self-penned hits licensed in over 50 countries (including Italy, Germany, France, Canada and Turkey) and is accustomed to seeing her name in lights on MTV Europe and on the European pop-dance scene. Taborah's last two back-to-back dance radio singles, "My Love For You" and "Ride On The Rhythm," remained on the Billboard Hits of the World music charts for thirty consecutive weeks, peaking at the #1 and #2 positions respectively, while at the same time landing on the Musica e Dische and Hit Parade charts at the top position. Says Taborah, "I took time off for family, and now I am ready to 'pump it up' on the dance floor. It would have been easy for me to go back to Europe again, but the United States is my home; yet I have never released a record here; who better to partner up with than Johnny Rocks, who is synonymous with American Dance history. To be in this business for twenty years with a reputation for keeping the beats hot, fresh and exciting... What a thrill!"
When asked why she thinks her song is getting such positive feedback even before its official release or even being picked up by a domestic label, Taborah, with her trademark smile from ear to ear says, "it's a song that people can relate to. It's a real 'rise up and be counted' song and it's hitting home with people who believe in taking control of their lives. "I AM (the rising)" is exactly what it implies and means many things to many different people. I AM delighted that people feel closeness to the song and can relate to it. Johnny Rocks brought my lyrics alive with his incredible beats. "I AM (The Rising)," is a song about 'making your own choices' and 'being free to be.' It's about the day when you realize that you can be in control and free to be who you are and that it is your right to do so... realizing that...I AM (period)."
When not writing or in the studio, Taborah, who has become an antique expert and interior designer during her musical hiatus, is working on a degree in Interior Design in Ohio; surely her digs on the road will be suitably exquisite and fashionably trendy! Taborah, recently performed during the Annual Dance Winter Music Conference Week in Miami to the delight of Blackwood fans, which wanted an advance listen to her new material. "I AM (The Rising)" was recorded in the United States with Joe Carrano for Welcome Productions adding his programming and engineering talents. Although Taborah will return to Europe for performances, she says she is looking forward to performing this summer in all of the fun party places right here in the USA.
Entertainment manager Catherine Laporte has planned multiple Âout of the box marketing strategies for Taborah... "'Think alternative and rock-style promotions' emphasizing tour, tour and more touring at all of the fun spots internationally, with interesting co-op partnerships along the way. Taborah is a New York girl, so our strategies will include the dynamic style and flair of her personality."
