Dominican Choreographer Vergi Rodriguez, "hard work pays off" in Soul Plane.

(PRWEB) June 15, 2004 -- Vergi Rodriguez, a Queens raised Latina, of Dominican roots, has hit an important milestone in her career as the choreographer for the feature film from MGM, "Soul Plane".

Rodriguez, a graduate of the presitigious New York City High School of teh Performing Arts, where she technically trained in ballet and modern dance, moved to Los Angeles two years ago to pursue her life long dream of being a performer. After touring extensively with some major names in the business and having the opportunity to travell all around the world, her big break finally came. "The opportunity to choreograph my first feature film has been a dream. It is result of a lot of hard work, that has finally paid off".

The movie, is a comedy spoof of the popular movie Airplane and feature actors Kevin Hart, Tom Arnold, Snoop Dogg, Method Man, Arielle kebbel, D.L. Hughley, and Columbian bombshell Sofia Vergara, amongst others.

Written by Chuck wilson and Bo Zenga, and directed by Jessy Terrero, another Dominican, the film has all the ingredients or a successful comedy. The movie is the story of Nashawn Wade who after a humiliating experience on an airplane, sues the airline and is awarded a huge settlement. determined to make good with the money, he creates the full - service airline of his dreams, complete with sexy stewardesses, funky music, a hot onboard dance club, and a bathroom attendant. Departing from all - new Terminal X in Los angeles, Soul Plane gives "fly" a whole new meaning, taking its passengers on a maiden voyage full of comedy, good music, and of course a lot of dance, and that is precisely the area where Vergi Rodriguez excels.

"This is a great door opener , for me personally and for Latinos in general, and as such a great responsibility. It is a fun movie and hopefully it will open doors for the work of Latinos in Hollywood to be recognized fully in Hollywood".

Soul Plane is rated R.
