A Priest, a Prostitute and a Drug Kingpin?
Author of compelling new thriller pits Catholic priest against drug lord.
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (PRWEB) June 16, 2004 -- What do a priest, a prostitute and a drug kingpin have in common?
-No. Its not some sick joke," author and Staten Island businessman John Paul Carinci interjects.
What it is, however, is his latest action novel, In Exchange of Life (now available through 1stBooks).
Father Joe Gramel, a Catholic priest and pastor of a small South Carolina congregation, is devastated when he learns his only niece, just 16, has died from a drug overdose in New York. Outraged, incensed and disillusioned with society, the Church and his life, Joe is determined to right this wrong and sets out on a mission to infiltrate the drug scene in New York. He plans to bring to justice the drug kingpin responsible for supplying the drugs that killed his niece. However, something goes terribly and deadly wrong.
Carinci, 48, is an insurance executive with 26 years in the business.
In Exchange Of Life is Carinci's third published suspense novel; he has several more forthcoming. When he's not writing, he runs an insurance agency in New York City (which he drew on in the setting for his first book, Better Off Dead, a story of the Mafia taking out life insurance on the victims of its hitmen). Filmmaker Charles Addessi, of the Wannabes, will be bringing Better Off Dead to the big screen in the coming months and there is already interest in turning In Exchange Of Life into a motion picture, as well.
Joe, please! Youre not stupid! They figured us out. Theyre wiping
out the chain that leads to them. They think Pinky ratted on them.
Thats why they not only killed him, but sent a message to everyone by cutting off his freakin head!"
