Atlanta, June 13, 2004 - No laptop for you! That's the vibe you'll get from Bill Lucas if you get on his bad side. Lucas is known for excellent refurbished computers and bend-over-backwards service, but he doesn't take any nonsense. If you try take advantage of his good nature, you'll soon find yourself out on the sidewalk, empty-handed.
Lucas believes his no-nonsense style of customer service has helped him grow from a small struggling computer repair shop to an 8,000 ft. store. I go out of my way to help my customers in anyway I can," says Lucas, but if they try to take advantage of me I'm not afraid to call them on it."
As a customer in his store one Saturday morning, I saw both sides of Lucas. I was leary about buying a refurbished laptop. Lucas sensed my apprehension and took the better part of the morning to reassure me, patiently demonstrating the quality of his work.
I witnessed his other side after Lucas discovered a customer went out and got a second opinion of his repair work. After a lively conversation, Lucas asked the man to leave. The man realized the error of his ways and tried to make amends, but it was too late.
It was a matter of loyalty," explained Lucas. I was going out of my way to help him by not charging for extra work. I might have missed something, but he should've brought it to me before he went to a competitor.
We've grown because people know I provide great service and a great product, and I'm honest with them. They know I'm not afraid to tell them when I think they're out of line. So, they trust me, that's why we've been successful.
Quality, service and integrity is the hallmark of what we do, but the most important is integrity."
