In the past, standard conference capture CD-ROMs have taken M2 approximately eight weeks to develop. Based on this successful test run, M2 looks forward to releasing the 24-hour multimedia program for investment by the end of June.
Jersey City, NJ (PRWEB) June 16, 2004 --- M2 Communications, Inc., a leading healthcare communications company, announces the successful development of an interactive conference capture CD-ROM in less than 24 hours. With a film and production crew onsite, M2 captured a symposium in New Orleans, LA on June 8th at the Hilton Riverside Hotel. The symposium was held in conjunction with the American Society of Clinical Oncologys Annual Meeting.
By the following morning of June 9th, producers had a CD-ROM in hand that included full video interviews and lectures by four leading researchers in the field of targeted therapies in oncology.
This program has been in the works since February," remarks Marybeth Libonate, Director of Operations. We wanted to build an engine that would capture clear video and audio so viewers would feel like they really were in the front row of the meeting."
In the past, standard conference capture CD-ROMs have taken M2 approximately eight weeks to develop. These programs include more features than those available on the 24-hour program, such as scrolling transcripts accompanying each presentation. The 24-hour program is effective even without the transcripts," remarks Libonate. It includes slides, full audio and video of the presentations, faculty bios, and abstracts, as well as complete medical education information, such as program learning objectives. And users will still have the option to connect to the Internet to receive CME credit."
The program, when viewed from start to finish, is approximately two hours in length. But theres nothing stopping users from jumping around. M2s production team programmed flexible features into the CD-ROM, including fast forward, rewind, pause, stop, and a note-taking area-all features that make the program as user-friendly as possible.
Originally, we werent even sure we would be able to include interviews with the faculty," says Joe Charnews, lead producer on the project. But the presenters were very accommodating and we were able to interview them in time to add this feature to the program. This was an exciting surprise and something we now know we can definitely offer in the future."
Based on this successful test run, M2 looks forward to releasing the 24-hour multimedia program for investment by the end of June.
