No job is too small or too large, for MPS -- when it come to maritime security" -- just ask Odyssey Marine and the Government of LIBYA

Maritime Protective Services (MPS) was chose by General National Maritime Transportation (GNMT) -- as well as Odyssey Marine to assess their respective interests regarding security and their requirements for compliance with the International Maritime Organizations International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. (PRWEB) June 16, 2004 --- We were extremely pleased that our program, was accepted and approved by the GNMT, in Libya, especially when there was such strong competition from wide assortment of other International organizations. However, here at MPS, it was equally satisfying to be chosen by Odyssey Marine, a leader in the field of deep ocean shipwreck exploration, located in Tampa, Florida, to take care of there needs. And, although the difference between the two engagements vary greatly, the objectives are exactly the same... full compliance for the ISPS Code and the MTSA including: vessel counter-terrorism assessments and the preparation of certifiable security plans for their ships and training for their personnel... proving, once again, that MPS is ready to serve every client with every need within the maritime security sector" says, George Playton, Director of Operations for MPS-US.

In the case of Odyssey Marine Exploration, the 113-foot RV Odyssey was used during the search and initial inspection phases on the SS Republic project. Since that search operation ended, the company has upgraded equipment on board the RV Odyssey to improve search and inspection operations and engaged MPS to bring the vessel up to full compliance with the ISPS Code, provide all the necessary training and fulfill the companys needs, relative to requirements of the MTSA.

As for GNMT, and even though the objective was quite similar -- bring their vessels up to full compliance with the ISPS Code and provide all the required training -- the logistics and dimensions of the undertaking were quite different. First of all, the initial LNG vessel count was established at 6, the Officer training for both Company and Ship was set at 25, and there was familiarization for the crews of all the ships... and it all had to be done in Libya.

Needless to say, we, here in the UK, had to buckle down and pool our resources, but it appear that those blokes, over in the states, got off easy this week"... quipped Jim Murray, Director of MPS-UK about this round of new business for the company.
