We, The World invites the New York community to make a difference! Building Global Solidarity for a Peaceful Sustainable World is a benefit to build support for 11 Days of Global Unity. Featured appearances include 11 Days Honorary Co-Chair Sally Fisher (Founder and project director, INTERSECT-Worldwide), 11 Days Honorary Co-Chair New York City Councilman Alan J Gerson, 11 Days Organizer Michael Johnson of Pathways to Peace, Naina Khanna of the League of Pissed Off Voters, 11 Days Coordinator Rick Ulfik (Founder of We, The World), and performers Billionaires for Bush Featuring the Bling Bling K'Ching Choir, Kymbali, the Battery Drumline directed by Polar Levine and Curtis Watts, Missy Galore, and Valerie Ghent. The event begins at 6pm with a preview screening & discussion of Danny Schechter's new film Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) on media and the Iraq war with Global Vision Producer Anna Pizarro.

11 Days of Global Unity is a convergence of local and global consciousness-raising festivals, concerts, broadcasts, webcasts, civic actions, voter registration programs and other activities Sept. 11 - 21, 2004. The growing list of 11 Days associated events includes United Nations International Day of Peace, Humanitad - One World, One Humanity, and the 16th Annual EcoFest in New York. There will also be public signings of a Declaration of Interdependence, as represented by the Earth Charter. Honorary co-chairs of 11 Days of Global Unity include Jane Goodall, founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and United Nations Messenger of Peace, Barbara Marx Hubbard President and Executive Director of the Foundation for Conscious Evolution, Marianne Williamson, author of Everyday Grace; Return To Love, and Healing the Soul of America, and John McConnell, the original Founder of Earth Day. 11 Days partner organizations include Amnesty International, the Earth Charter Initiative, and many others.
