Ms. Pennsylvania 2004 Maria Frisby, who received her nutrition in the past via nasal jejunal and jejunal feeding tubes and who survived a 108 degree body temperature, was selected as the 2nd Runner-Up and won the prestigious Inspiration Award at the U.S. Beauties National Pageant. The U.S. Beauties National Pageant was held at the Indian Lakes Resort in Bloomingdale, Illinois on Sunday, June 13, 2004.
(PRWEB) June 17, 2004 -- Ms. Pennsylvania 2004 Maria Frisby was selected as the 2nd Runner-Up and won the prestigious Inspiration Award at the U.S. Beauties National Pageant. The Inspiration Award is given to the person who is an inspiration to everyone and her pageant competition. It honors the person who by example has demonstrated the ability to show the true character of what pageantry really stands for.
The national U.S. Beauties Pageant was held at the Indian Lakes Resort in Bloomingdale, Illinois on Sunday, June 13, 2004. During the pageant Maria participated in evening gown, sportswear,interview, and the talent competition. She wore a lavender gown for the evening gown competition. During the sportswear competition she twirled a baton, and did a basketball routine to the Globetrotters' Theme Song "Sweet Georgia Brown."
She is a former member of the Borough of Manhattan Community College - C.U.N.Y. 1982 Womens' Basketball Championship Team.
During the talent competition Maria read an inspirational poem that she wrote about 9/11 called "It Happened One Day." Many people in the audience were touched by her poem. There was not a dry eye in the room where the competition took place.
Maria is an actress and model. She was a special guest on a Time Warner Cable Tv Show called the DAVE GOLD SHOW. During the show titled "An Evening with Maria Frisby" Maria did a monologue, sang a song, recited a poem about 9/11, and was a cohost. She was a featured extra in "The Getaway" starring Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin. She is currently helping to produce a segment of a documentary for a television station in Pennsylvania. Maria is a graduate of Penn State University. She is the founder of the Angels of Mercy, a group that visits the elderly, homeless, and sick. She did a 9/11 project for family members whom lost loved ones on 9/11. She raised money and sent family members of victims killed on 9/11 to an amusement park.
Maria suffers from life-threatening pancreatitis, but continues to persevere despite obstacles placed before her. Her mission is to continue helping the elderly, sick, and homeless and to spread the message of peace and love in United States and abroad.
