In overall results, Alpha players Vince Howell and Carl Wolters won second- and fourth-place in the Open division, respectively; while, senior division players Eric Jones, Kurt Moore and Pat Dempsey won second-, third- and fourth-place with Alpha drivers. In the womans division, Alpha Golfs Sally Dee claimed second-place.

But Luirettes performance was the attention-getter, earning him a new moniker - 'The Bushman - as his drives outdistanced the 400-yard Golf Shack range so often that spotters kept having to scour the bushes in the neighboring field just to find his balls.

Luirette, who has relied on the Alpha drivers to lift him to the top of the LDA money list this year, has become a power machine. To date, hes won $36,000 with consistent fire, including a 454-yard drive in the finals that led to a second-place finish in Albuquerque earlier this year.
