Adventurepotato.com goes International.
Adventure Potato Inc. celebrates international recognition.
Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) June 18, 2004 -- With 23 hits from Slovenia, www.adventurepotato.com (the official site of Adventure Potato Inc.) has become that country's number one English only get off the couch and do something, adventure sailing website. Spokespeople for Adventure Potato were difficult to understand as the corporation stopped work today to throw a party celebrating this latest in a long line of successes.
"Today Slovenia, tomorrow who knows." Was the battle cry from Adventure Potato's CEO and Head Potato, Bill Stettiner. Mr. Stettiner continued to say "When Adventure Potato opened its web portal, we really had no notion that we might achieve international acclaim. In addition to Slovenia, we have had International visitors from South Korea, Singapore, and Denmark. We also believe that we have had a few Canadians sneaking under the radar by using US based ISP's."
About Adventure Potato Inc.
"Adventures for the rest of us."
There are people in the world who chose to live outside the urban norm. They live in the Australian Outback, or the Alaskan Wilderness, or above the Acrtic Circle. Or maybe they live in the urban areas, but have jobs that take them all over the world on what most of us would call adventures. Maybe they are professional race car drivers, or North Sea wildcatters. Lets not forget cowboys, and people in the military. Basically, people who do not have commute to" sit and chat" type jobs. (You know, the kind we have)
For the most part we consider these people adventurers. Or adventurous.
Then there are all the sedentary types. You know, the Couch Potatoes". They go to work, go home, and sit and veg. Nothing wrong with that, if you do it, and it makes you happy, You go" (Girl" or Boy" as appropriate). I have done it at times, and my guess is most of you have too, so let he who has never Done the Spud" cast the first stone.
But what about the people in the middle?
People who take adventurous vacations? People who work nine to five in a cube, and race motorcycles on weekends? People who fly fish in the Alaskan Wilderness once a month, with the nearest doctor 100 miles away? People who work in any job that bores them, and live for their weekends climbing cliff faces, or racing SCCA? Or those who take long vacations to sail to Hawaii or Mexico or Bermuda? How do we classify these people? Where do they fit? You can't really call an Insurance Agent who never misses an episode of Law & Order" an Adventurer", and you can't call someone who sails alone to Hawaii on a little boat a Couch Potato".
So, what can you do with these tweeners, these Adventure Potatoes"? You can Join them!
Adventure Potato Inc. is supporting the First American record for a solo non stop circumnavigation While several Americans have sailed single handed non stop circumnavigations before, none has ever left from an American port.
We at Adventure Potato hope that this will help renew the spirit of adventure in America and encourage other people to believe that everyone has the ability to do the things that others might think impossible.
