LWOBs Flavia Trevisani recieves the United Nations Volunteers Programmes Online Volunteer of the Year Award.

LWOB is proud to announce that Flavia Trevesani, LWOBs Assistant to the Director and Volunteer Manager, has received the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) Programmes prestigious Online Volunteer of the Year award for 2004.

(PRWEB) June 20, 2004 -- The UNV Programme manages a worldwide network of thousands of volunteers, many of whom, like Flavia, participate through the Programmes UN Online Volunteer Service. The Programmes Online Volunteer of the Year award is conferred annually upon ten distinguished UNV Programme volunteers who, through the Online Volunteering Service, have made outstanding contributions to organizations worldwide.

Flavia, an Italian law graduate living in Amsterdam, is being recognized for her organization and management of more than 100 LWOB online volunteers. Since fall 2003, Flavia has significantly improved the relationship and the working environment of LWOBs online volunteers. She implemented a system of volunteer recognition, as well as an online volunteer registration, a log for hours, and a volunteer management tool. Currently, she is writing a volunteer manual and a volunteer operations manual specifically for the organization. Flavia oversees all new volunteer registrations, and introduces new volunteers to the organization. Thanks to Flavia, the LWOBs group of online volunteers has already grown and their quality of contributions has significantly improved.

The contributions and recognition Flavia has gained for the LWOB serve to highlight the importance of volunteers who aid LWOB in its mission to becoming the leading global clearing house for legal pro-bono services in the non-profit and human rights sectors. The accomplishments to date would not have been possible without donor and volunteer support. Seeing that LWOB continues to grow and expand its base of volunteers to meet the growing needs of the underprivileged, donor support and contributions will be crucial as volunteers strive to turn the LWOBs long term goals into concrete accomplishments.
