Teachers To Get Star Treatment

Currently 4 out 5 schools are concerned with stress levels of their teachers and with the end of term looming these levels are increasing at a rapid rate.

(PRWEB) June 20, 2004 -- Tracey Carter a former teacher from Lewisham is hosting a free Pamper and personal development day for teachers on Sunday 11th July from 10-4pm at The Devonshire Rd Nature Reserve, 170-172 Devonshire Rd, Forest Hill to support teachers with the old phenomena of End Of Term Burn Out otherwise known as work related stress. The day will include meditation, personal development workshops, beauty treatments and offer practical ways for teachers to recharge their batteries and reduce stress.

Currently 4 out 5 schools are concerned with stress levels of their teachers and with the end of term looming these levels are increasing at a rapid rate. Without intervention it is likely that this trend will continue or grow worse with increasing numbers of teachers taking time off sick, or ultimately leave the industry altogether due to burn out.

Tracey has experienced high levels of stress herself as a teacher especially towards the end of term. She left the industry due to burn out and trained as a life coach and became a renowned motivational speaker. She was inspired to run this project after observing the enormous levels of stress her friends and colleagues were suffering and wanted to do something positive to help.

The project is part of a course she is completing at Landmark education which includes creating a project that will touch, move and inspire a community group.

So far she has received an overwhelming response from schools and colleges around London and her only problem now is how to make the event bigger to accommodate the growing demand.

Teachers are the cornerstone of our society and should be revered just as much as footballers and entertainers. I am thirty two and I still remember the positive impact that my infant teacher had on me and I believe every child deserves that memory," said Tracey, Project Organiser.

Teachers or educational establishments who would like to get involved or book should contact Tracey on 020 8778 6542 or email tracey@epslimited.com
