Illinois State Chamber of Commerce to Salute National Guardsmen, Reservists and their Supportive Employers

Breakfast meeting at the Union League Club in Chicago on Tuesday, July 6th to Salute Illinois supportive employers of National Guardsmen and Reservists.

(PRWEB) June 22, 2004 -- The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense Agency, announced today that the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce will partner with the Illinois ESGR Committee to salute National Guardsmen, Reservists, and their supportive employers on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 during a breakfast meeting from 7:30am to 9:00am at the Union League Club, 65 West Jackson Blvd, in Chicago.

Saluting Americas Employers is the right thing to do, and this is the right time to do it", said Bob Hollingsworth, ESGR Executive Director. During this time of unprecedented mobilizations of the brave men and women of the National Guard and Reserve, ESGR is honoring those employers who have demonstrated Above and Beyond" support for their employees who serve in the Illinois National Guard and Reserve".

A NASCAR show car, known as Americas Car", will be parked at the Federal Center Plaza, in front the Loop Post Office, were the public can have their pictures taken with the car, and sign several large Support Our Troops" banners that will be sent to our servicemen and women stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, and elsewhere in the world. This is part of a nationwide campaign to collect 1.2 million signatures, one for every Guardsman and Reservist who currently serves the nation.

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense volunteer organization. ESGR provides free education, consultation, and if necessary mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve employees. The goal of ESGR is to support Americas employers who share their employees with the nation to ensure our national security.
