Independently published novel "Out of Place Out of Time" continues to earn praise with the award of the iUniverse Editor's Choice Award.

PORTSMOUTH, NH (PRWEB) June 25, 2004 -- Eric D. Knapp launched his introductory novel Out of Place Out of Time, winner of the iUniverse Editors Choice Award for fiction. The book documents the fictional scientist Dr. Trenton Stowels bizarre road to self-discovery, and is presented with unique form and colorful imagery. The award was made after the new novel passed an independent editorial review process, attesting that the authors debut title is of superior writing and marketability."

The Editors Choice award is designed to showcase independent authors who have proven they have what it takes to succeed: superior writing and a commitment to excellence. Out of Place Out of Time earned this honor because The manuscript is truly excellent. The plot is well constructed... the characters are realistic and likable. [The story is reminiscent of good fifties science-fiction."

Earning the Editors Choice award is an honor, and very encouraging," said Knapp. Ive been asked if Out of Place Out of Time is going to be the next rags-to-riches story... I cant say that it is, but initial sales are looking good and reader feedback has been fantastic." Knapps story is one of self-discovery and reconciliation with the past. The protagonist, Dr. Trenton Stowel, is forced to confront his past failures in order to avoid an alien conflict-a conflict that originated through his own introversions, failures and often painful misunderstandings. The author skillfully manipulates the readers emotions," attests the review.

What Others Are Saying About Out of Place Out of Time
Complex and Intriguing ...a highly creative work full of subtext and character." ~ Steven Fiore, Editor, Blu Monkey Magazine

Eerily seductive Sci Fi. Draws you in from the opening pages, and doesn't let you escape from it's grasp... Time travel novels are tough to pull off. This one succeeds where the recent NY Times Bestseller [The Time Travelers Wife did not. For the money this book is a much better buy and is more deserving of fancy up-front displays at major bookstores" ~ Eric Dondero, Editor, The Independent Publishing Review.

Like Bradbury, Eric D. Knapp skillfully constructs a story that regards the implications of time travel in a way that you might have never considered. It is just a hair's width away from greatness... For people who enjoy a rapidly-paced, intelligent sci-fi story that challenges you with its ideas without choking you on them, there really couldn't be a better choice than "Out of Place Out of Time." ~ the Bloomsbury Review.

Synopsis of Out of Place, Out of Time
Dr. Stowel made a big mistake: experimenting with unverified theories of time travel. The consequence was his sudden departure from Earth and his introduction to a sentient alien race. When he returns, many years later, he doesnt know how he got back, or why.

Injured and suffering from severe memory loss Stowel can only speculate that the aliens were responsible, that they are on Earth now and that they are up to no good. To the agents of the Temporal Exploration and Advancement project, Stowels return could mean advancing their research by years. Yet with the risk of instigating an alien conflict as a result of their research, the project is at risk of being terminated instead!

What is really going on? Katherine Maya is certain there is more, locked inside the lost memories of Dr. Trenton Stowel. But how can she unlock the memories of a man who keeps disappearing into thin air?
