A New Service for European Associations
EUcast is a new initiative to attract more qualified visitors to the web site of European industry associations, think tanks, NGOs, political parties, institutions, etc. and thereby improve associations' rankings in major search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN.
Brussels (PRWEB) June 26, 2004 -- Ultreďa Ventures sa/nv, launched in October 2003 by two Belgian entrepreneurs with a solid track record in new technologies, announces today the launch of EUcast, an initiative that aims at attracting more quality visitors to the web site of about 15.000 associations, think tanks, NGOs, and other representative organs spread across the European Union.
Kris Vlaemynck and Marc De Wilde have already worked several years with European associations in the frame of their previous company, specialised in setting up Internet-based secured information exchange platforms for international associations.
In the light of this experience, Kris and Marc now wish to fulfil another need of European associations: increase their visibility on the Internet and attract on a continuous basis new targeted visitors (new members, politicians, opinion leaders, corporate executives, journalists, citizens) to get their message across on important issues.
To do so, EUcast has set up a 3-step methodology to increase the number of qualified hyperlinks toward associations web sites. This methodology is implemented by EUcast's consultants in agreement with the customer-associations.
To which extent increasing the number of links can attract additional visitors toward associations web site?
The underlying philosophy is as follows: hyperlinks are the foundations of the Internet. Users move from page to the other by clicking on links. By asking to quality web sites handling similar topics to host hyperlinks toward associations sites, EUcast expects to attract additional visitors interested in getting further information on these associations sites.
How can hyperlinks have an impact on associations rankings in search engines such as Google?
Modern search engines such as Google have tailored their algorithms (internal rules used to decide which sites are given priority) to reward sites which have many qualified links. Search engines have found that judging a site by who links to it is one of the best indicators of site quality. By qualified links, we mean links originating from successful sites covering subjects that are similar or complementary to those of the target site.
What is the interest for associations to score high in search results lists of Google & Co?
Given the huge amount of available web sites (more than 4 billions pages today) and the continuous change of information on the Internet, most users prefer using a search engine such as Google to find out information. Thanks to their advanced algorithms, these search engines identify the sites that match best the search criteria entered by the user. Most users rely on these search engines to look for information. Therefore every organisation that wishes to communicate via its web site should rank high in the lists of Google & Co.
What is the three-step methodology set up by EUcast?
EUcasts methodology consists in organising a link popularity campaign, i.e. a campaign to find other relevant sites ready to host new links. Such a campaign generally lasts a year to complete and is subdivided into three steps:
1.Preparation: EUcast analyses together with the customer-association the different aspects of its communication strategy, prepares the list of potential organisations that could link to their site, and carefully identify the best pages to host the link.
2.Kick-Off: EUcasts operating team politely requests a link from every potential target organisation in the list. Requests are done by phone, mail and/or letter, and are personalised to maximise the chances of success. This stage generally lasts three months to complete.
3.Consolidation: The consolidation stage usually lasts nine months. It consists in the follow-up of existing links as well as in the addition of new qualified links to sustain the increase of the number of qualified visitors.
How long does it take to see the number of visitors increasing?
Implementing an effective linking strategy takes time and demands an ongoing commitment. It usually takes several months before seeing a significant growth in the number of visitors. But the rewards are worth the efforts because every new link has lasting results as it brings a continuous stream of qualified visitors for years to come and helps improve rankings in search engines.
