Gotive Selects Symagerys SX3090 Imaging System For Its Rugged Handheld Communicator

Symagery today announced that Gotive, a leading manufacturer of mobile communicators, has recently selected the Symagery SX3090 megapixel image engine and decode system for use in the new model of Gotive rugged hand-held communicator.

OTTAWA (PRWEB) June 29, 2004 -- Symagery today announced that Gotive, a leading manufacturer of mobile communicators, has recently selected the Symagery SX3090 megapixel image engine and decode system for use in the new model of Gotive rugged hand-held communicator.

The SX3090 is an imaging system ideal for integration into hand-held or fixed-mount scanners or portable data collection terminals. Symagerys solution includes a scan engine module and comprehensive software development tools to customize functionality for specific industry applications. The solid-state technology means no moving parts and virtually no maintenance for the final product.

The Gotive rugged hand-held communicators are designed for mobile workers in a variety of outdoor environments. They replace the need for independent devices by their combined functionality and, thanks to their modular hardware configuration system, the following options can be built into one unit creating a multifunctional device matching the customers specification:
•   Hand-held computer with large outdoor readable touch-screen HVGA (640 x 240 pixels)
•   Mobile phone (GSM/GPRS data/voice/sms communication)
•   Wireless LAN
•   Bar code reader
•   Smart Card reader
•   Global positioning system

According to Peter Csank, hardware development manager, Gotive, We selected Symagerys solutions because its OEM channel-only sales approach encourages a truly collaborative relationship that only a non-competing supplier can offer. In addition, Symagery also offers us the best fitting imaging technology for the automatic identification and data capture market."

We are very excited about working with Gotive," said Ron Caines, president and CEO of Symagery. Its approach to the traditional portable data collection market is revolutionary. The technical and marketing teams at both companies worked closely together to ensure that the Gotive products could take advantage of the latest image capture and barcode/2D symbology reading capabilities while maintaining the slim, attractive form factor of the Gotive hand-held communicators."
