A new restaurant is opening in Wrigley Field. Instead of ordering the fries on the side Lucky's stuffs fries and coleslaw in the sandwich creating a whole meal in between two slices of bread. The average cost of a sandwich ranges between $5 - $6.

No matter what the game’s outcome is, Cubs fans will soon be able to satisfy their appetites at Wrigleyville’s newest restaurant, Lucky’s Sandwich Company, home of the overstuffed sandwich. Lucky’s is set to open in late-June at 3472 N. Clark Street.

Layered with a choice of cooked meats, melted cheese and sliced tomatoes, this overstuffed feast boasts steaming hot, fresh-cut french fries (sliced daily) and a uniquely-flavored seasoned coleslaw sandwiched between two thick slices of Italian bread.

“I wanted to bring a unique sandwich to Chicago that Wrigleyville can call its own,” said Mike Feczko, owner and manager of Lucky’s. “Chicago may have its Italian beef, famous hot dog and deep dish pizza, but it has never seen a sandwich quite like this.”

Lucky’s Sandwich Company (a reference to “Lucky” Charlie Weeghman*, who built, in his words, the “edifice of beauty” now called Wrigley Field and brought the Cubs from the west side to play there) also offers a variety of appetizers, sides, and beverages in addition to sandwiches and will initially be BYOB.

Lucky’s Sandwich Company is a member of the Illinois Restaurant Association and the Central Lakeview Chamber of Commerce. Its operating hours are (11 AM – 11 PM) Sunday through Thursday and (11 AM – 4AM) Friday and Saturday.

*Lucky's Sandwich Company is in no way affiliated with or descendants of Lucky Charlie Weeghman, the Chicago Cubs, or the Wrigley family.
