Additions Help Position Company to Achieve Long-Term Vision

BURLINGTON, KY (PRWEB) June 26, 2004 -- Blaine Pharmaceuticals, manufacturer of over-the-counter products such as Mag-Ox 400, today announced that Vincent J. Gilday Jr. has joined the company as Vice President of Finance and Operations and Anthony (Tony) Salamone has joined as Director of National Accounts.

As Vice President of Finance and Operations, Vincent Gilday will oversee areas including financial reporting, management and administration, information services, procurement, relationships with the financial community, contracting assessment of company acquisitions, developing and implementing business procedures, and sales analysis.

Prior to joining Blaine, Gilday was President and Chief Financial Officer for Comm Line Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Black Box Corporation. In this role, which he held since 1995, Gilday consistently helped the companys three divisions under his management achieve targeted profitability goals. In addition, he served as Finance Team Captain" for seven Black Box subsidiaries throughout the U.S. He also conducted financial due diligence and integrated financial reporting for numerous Black Box acquisitions. Previously, Gilday also held financial leadership positions with companies such as Brower Pease, Hamilton Fixture and Grant Thornton.

An active member with organizations such as the Ohio and Kentucky Societies of Certified Public Accountants, Venture Capital Association of Cincinnati and Corporation Growth Association, Gilday holds a B.S. in Accounting from Thomas More College and is also a licensed CPA with the State of Ohio. He and his wife Jackie reside in Edgewood, Kentucky.

Tony Salamone brings his extensive experience in over-the-counter product sales to his new role as Director of National Accounts for Blaine. In this position, Salamone is now responsible for solidifying relationships with trade partners, wholesalers, retailers and group purchasing organizations and supporting the marketing activities within the trade category.

Most recently, Salamone had been employed with Shire, U.S. as Director of Trade Sales, a position to which he was promoted in 1997. In this role, Salamone held sales responsibility for the companys $35 million OTC division. Through his efforts, the company, including the six National Account Managers under his direction, was able to increase sales volume for its Consumer Products Division by 75%. In addition to Shire, Salamone has also held sales positions with companies such as Goldline Laboratories and Rorer Consumer.

Salamone holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Delaware Valley College. He and his family reside in North Wales, Pennsylvania.
