Tsunami Foundations Taking Education By Storm: First Annual Storm Awards" honors four distinguished individuals for their leadership and dedication to education in Chicago

On June 30, 2004 the Tsunami Foundation hosts first annual award ceremony, honoring four successful individuals for their immeasurable commitment to the youth of Chicago. All proceeds will benefit the Tsunami Foundation's Mentoring program, which supports students as they transition from high school to college.

(PRWEB) June 25, 2004 -- Founded in 2003, Tsunami Foundation dedicates its time to ensure the success of young adults by providing them with the tools and resources necessary to lead them through the 21st century. The Tsunami team believes success begins with education, career planning and development. Inspiring tomorrows leaders... today, the Tsunami Foundation helps students through transitional periods and offers a well-informed, welcoming environment for them to uncover various career paths the world offers. The Tsunami Foundation provides mentoring programs, networking opportunities, and financial support to students who have demonstrated a commitment to academics. The Foundation focuses on education and career development while offering the support and guidance students need to attain their personal and professional goals.

The first annual Storm Awards will take place on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 from 6pm until 9pm at Japonais Restaurant located at 600 West Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL.

Tsunami Foundation is expecting more than 200 influential individuals in the areas of business, commerce, education and philanthropic endeavors to support this evening. During the event we will announce a partnership with Noble Street Charter High School. In addition, well introduce the new and distinguished advisory board. A Silent Auction will also be held to raise additional funding.

In our effort to enhance our educational platform, proceeds go to Tsunami Foundation Mentoring and Scholarship programs. The mentoring program pairs volunteer working professionals with students seeking insight into specific career fields. Mentors offer students advice on topics ranging from personal and professional decisions to housing on campus to social organizations, internships to resume building and interviewing skills.
