Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) June 29, 2004 -- Volunteers are needed to assist with The Georgia BIG PICTURE Conference (GABPC) -- a new student film & communications conference coming to Atlanta in September of 2005. The conference includes components in film and video, television, radio, animation and digital media and is targeted to students and professionals in these fields.
Attendees will join filmmakers, actors, industry executives, radio personalities, animators, editors, journalists and the visual media-loving public for two remarkable days to create out of the ordinary, something extraordinary.
The GABPC Conference joins students together with professionals in the film, television and visual media industries for two full days of education, networking, and exchange of information -- as well as finding a way to leverage the talent of the growing student population for the development and enhancement of the visual media industries in Georgia.
A conference of this nature is long overdue," according to Nancy Howard of Visionary Films, the producers of the conference, and can be very beneficial not only to the students who attend, but also to professionals in the film, television and visual media industries here in Georgia. Local organizations in these industries are naturally looking to grow and maintain their footholds competitively both from a national and global standpoint. And utilizing the student population that is already here -- and constantly increasing --can be immensely valuable to them."
Attendees will experience industry panels and workshops, new technology demonstrations, film screenings, exclusive parties, and a Student Selection Awards Program. Students can also submit their work for screening at the nightly Student Showcase. Each registrant will also be automatically entered into the conference registration sweepstakes to win prizes, such as a new computer, PDA, cell phone package, and free memberships to local visual media organizations.
Volunteer opportunities and internships vary and are available to anyone with an interest in the fields of film and video, television, radio, or animation. Volunteer opportunities for students even include becoming a Conference Ambassador for their school in exchange for registration to attend the conference.
Interested parties can e-mail resumes or letters of interest to volunteer@gabpc.com, or you can fax it to (404) 799-3909. Detailed information is available at www.gabpc.com.
