The Innovation Games: Go for the Gold!" is the theme for this years event. As top athletes head to Athens for the Summer Olympic Games, local business leaders will recognize the achievements of the Boulder Valleys top innovators. The IQ Awards is the summers hottest networking opportunity, bringing together Boulder and Broomfield counties most creative minds with hundreds of leaders in all sectors of the business community. Award finalists will be recognized for achievements in 10 categories, and winners will be featured in a special section of The Boulder County Business Reports July 23 edition.
For years, the Boulder Valley has attracted entrepreneurs with exceptional ideas and the potential to grow into sustainable businesses. The IQ Awards really grew out of a need to recognize those achievements," says Jerry W. Lewis, publisher and editor of The Boulder County Business Report, which founded and organizes the IQ Awards. Since we started this event five years ago, it has consistently created a buzz in the local business community and emerged as a great networking opportunity. We are thankful organizations like the Longmont Area Economic Council have also recognized the need to recognize the achievements of these innovators by sponsoring this event."
A record number of nominations in 10 business categories were submitted for this year's awards. Finalists were announced in the June 25 edition of The Boulder County Business Report. 2003 winners included CTEK, Ionic Fusion Corp., Cornice Inc., IZZE Beverage Co., LifePics, Roche Colorado Corp., YWCA of Boulder County, CreekPath Systems Inc., GoLite LLC, and Roving Planet Inc.
