Entryscan³ is a high-throughput, non-intrusive, walk-through explosives detection portal designed to detect explosives concealed on the body of terrorists attempting to defeat checkpoint security. When an individual walks through the Entryscan³ -- which appears similar to a walk through metal detector -- the detector "sniffs" the air around the individual for airborne "signatures" of explosives.

This years Madrid train bombings have pointed up a glaring hole in Homeland Security planning -- the total absence of any ability to screen large numbers of rail transit passengers for explosives. Screening rail transit passengers presents enormous problems. The screening method has to be non-intrusive, reliable, effective, and extremely rapid so as not to disrupt passenger flow.
