Internet Helps Teens Cut Line at Florida DMV

Update to release of July 1. Almost 400,000 driver licenses are issued to new drivers every year in Florida - most of them to teenagers in the form of a Learners Permit. To get a Florida Learners Permit you are required to take a Drug and Alcohol Traffic Awareness (DATA) course and a DMV Exam. Now teens can take both the DATA course and DMV exam online on the Florida Drivers Association website at http://www.123Driving.com on the "Learners Permit" page.

Palm City, FL (PRWEB) July 8, 2004 -- Taking the Florida Learners Permit exam online means shorter lines at the DMV. As of now, teenagers getting their first drivers license can cut the line by going online.

Parents and their teenagers can now speed through the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) when getting a Learners Permit. No, there isn't a car pool lane, but there is a high-tech shortcut.

Florida Learners Permit DATA & DMV Exam Online
The online DMV exam is provided by the American Safety Council and is certified by the Florida Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles. Now teens can take both the DATA course and DMV exam online before going to the DMV at age 15 to get their Learners Permit.

According to Florida Drivers Association president Donna Meyerson, "Parents and teens are thrilled that both are now available on the Internet. Parents no longer have to spend hours waiting at the DMV for their kids to take the required exams."

With the DATA and DMV Exam Certificate of Completion in hand, the new driver goes to the DMV for only an eye exam, hearing test and photo. With an appointment, the entire process can take 30 minutes or less.
