TIP JAR - A New Slant On EBAY Listings

(PRWEB) July 6, 2004 -- A new eBay store, Rio's Garage, has a category entitled TIP JAR. The creative category contains one listing of 9999 one dollar Buy It Now "Tips." All tippers (purchasers) receive an electronic copy of "RIOISMS - Spiritual Ramblings Of An Artist," written by Rio, the store owner. The eBooklet is controversial, thought provoking, and extremely entertaining. More than worth the tip.

Rio states "I'm a writer and an artist. Obviously, I would like for people to read and enjoy my work. I was simply trying to think of new ways to generate sales."

The store was opened mid June 2004 as a way for Rio to create an income. She was a self-employed truck driver/courier with one contract worth nearly $50,000 per year until April 2000, when she suffered a stress fracture to her fifth lumbar vertebra. A spinal fusion performed in January 2001, with the insertion of titanium, fixed the problem area but recovery has been slow going. Before she was able to return to work, she lost her home and all of its contents. She even lived in her car for a short while. Unable to return to her laborious career, she worked an $8 per hour retail job. She resigned her position on June 7, 2004 to travel to Atlanta for the summer to help her family with her father's illness from cancer. Hence the creation of Rio's Garage to replace or better her lost income.

Her attitude is amazing. "You learn in a hurry what's important in this life when you lose just about everything you own," she says. She also says, "I'm titanium now. When I die, I'll have some value as junk. How cool is that?"

The new store, Rio's Garage, touts itself as an online garage sale with everything from A to Z. It is also a showcase for Rio's art works, erotic and otherwise. Rio states that the biggest problem with the store is finding things to list at reasonable prices. She adds new inventory items daily, and now she has a TIP JAR.
