Oak Ridge men arrested on drug charges

(PRWEB) July 3, 2004 -- Oak Ridge police arrested two men on cocaine charges Monday and Tuesday in separate incidents.

Kayvin Grate, 42, 134 S. Walker Lane, was arrested Monday for possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of Schedule III drugs and possession of Schedule IV drugs after officers searched his house.

Adrian Curb, 24, 121 Elmhurst Lane, was arrested Tuesday night for possession of crack cocaine, public intoxication and evading arrest.

Court records said Bethel Poston and other officers served a search warrant at Grate's home. Once inside, they found crack cocaine, acetaminophen 5000 mg./hydrocodone pills without a prescription, Phentermine pills without a prescription and marijuana. These pill (viz. Lt. Rick Stone said Ruff saw Curb walking on Wilberforce, carrying a bottle of liquor. Curb dropped the liquor when he saw Ruff. Ruff stopped Curb and determined he was intoxicated and placed him under arrest for public intoxication and then searched him.

Stone said Ruff found crack cocaine on Curb and while officers were detaining him, he broke free and ran. Officers chased him for about a mile before catching him.

Both men have a long criminal histories in Oak Ridge. Oak Ridge police first arrested Curb in 1997 when at age 16, he shot a man in the Scarboro neighborhood. When arrested for the shooting, officers found him with about 35 crack cocaine rocks.
