International Task Force Selects U.S. Housing
The International Energy Agencies Task Force (IEA Task 28) on environmental housing has selected Kansas City, Missouri locations as a demonstration project. These homes will join twenty-two other sites around the world as a showcase for environmental and sustainable technology.
KANSAS CITY, MO (PRWEB) July 4, 2004 -- These ecological homes utilize advanced construction techniques that conserve natural resources and achieve very low energy requirements as well as featuring healthy interiors for the homeowners.
IEA Task 28 addresses affordability and cost optimization thru an integrated approach that looks at increased market penetration with greater architectural freedom and improved living quality.
Guy Holt, a U.S. expert within this Task Force, explained the concept: These homes fit nicely in any community, they save up to 75% in monthly bills and they offer open and flexible floor plans that utilize the latest concepts for health, wellness and architectural styling.
These eco-friendly homes are built to the local Kansas City Home Builders Associations Green Build" platinum level standards. They meet the American Lung Associations Healthy House" requirements as well as being EPA Energy Star" rated. The demonstration homes range in price from the low $300s to $500,000's and feature lake views. New homes can be custom built for homeowners at their choice of location starting in the low $200s" says Holt.
These homes also feature products that beautify the home as well as conserve more natural resources. Replacing many traditional products with more natural materials these homes are safer, more attractive and require less maintenance. We are getting calls for new construction as well as homeowners and business people around the country who wish to re-model with these eco-friendly products," says Holt.
