Las Vegas Chief Information Officers Interacting and Influencing

The Las Vegas CIO Breakfast forum is an invitation-only networking event, which provides a platform for CIOs, CTOs and technology leaders to meet their peers, learn from each other's experiences and avoid some of the business and IT pitfalls that their colleagues have already addressed.

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) July 3, 2004 -- While a number of business leaders have become generally conversant about information technology (IT), many IT specialists have become knowledgeable about the strategic and business benefits of IT. To provide a local thought leadership forum where Las Vegas-based IT professionals can gather to exchange ideas and best practices, the Las Vegas CIO Breakfast series has been initiated by Allen Plunkett, President of Phoenix Staff, an Information Technology Consulting firm.

The Las Vegas CIO Breakfast forum is an invitation-only networking event, which provides a platform for CIOs, CTOs and technology leaders to meet their peers, learn from each other's experiences and avoid some of the business and IT pitfalls that their colleagues have already addressed.

"Those who are nimble and quick in implementing IT solutions to reduce costs, provide customer benefits and automate customer and supplier relationships have a competitive advantage," said Roy Vallee, chairman and CEO of Phoenix-based Avnet, Inc., who has been a speaker at the Phoenix CIO Breakfast. "I believe the only sustainable difference between competitors is continuous innovation. And as research and development is a differentiator for a manufacturing company, the innovative use of IT is a differentiator for a services company like Avnet," Vallee said.

"The breakfast meetings are designed to better enable IT leaders to anticipate, sense and respond to changes in the Las Vegas IT community," said Plunkett. "We are simply offering a venue for technology leaders. If it also helps to create a stronger IT force in Las Vegas that would be a bonus."

For information on upcoming Las Vegas CIO Breakfasts, Technology Leaders are invited to call 800-204-1193 or e-mail allen@phoenixstaff.com.

Some of the topics discussed at previous meetings include better management of assets (lowering costs and increasing return on investment (ROI)), creating a world-class project management office and governance and value metrics within an IT organization.
