Ammar Halloum filed a whistleblowing lawsuit against Intel Corporation for discrimination and retaliation.

Intel asked Ammar Halloum, an ex employee at Intel Corporation to push out payments on invoices until subsequent quarters in 2001 in order to defraud stock holders. Ammar Halloum blew the whistle on Intel fraudulant practices, and Intel discriminated and retaliated against Halloum.

PHOENIX, AZ (PRWEB) July 4, 2004 -- A previously employed Group Leader at Intel Corporation filed an appeal for a whistle-blowers retaliation lawsuit with the Administrative Review Board in Washington, DC on May 8, 2004.

According to the lawsuit, originally filed with the US Department of Labor, the plaintiff was instructed in 2001 by the Intel Finance Department, via his supervisor, to push out payments on invoices until subsequent quarters in order to meet Wall Street expectations. The plaintiff openly discussed the practice with his manager via e-mail and included the task in a progress report which was endorsed by his manager in his subsequent annual evaluation.

Fearing legal liabilities as a result of the many corporate scandals in 2002, the plaintiff blew the whistle concerning his actions on behalf of Intel Corporation to the Security Exchange Commission in March 2002. The SEC subsequently requested Intel Corporation conduct an internal audit of its practices. Intel Corporate management retaliated against the plaintiff, threatened him, and constructively discharged him on September 3, 2002.

In the transcripts of the hearing, Intel admits, For the entire period, which is about a billion dollars of expenses, there was $3.3 million dollars worth of invoices for all three vendors on which the payment was - you could call it delayed." (Trial Tr. at 1178)
The Administrative Law Judge, William Dorsey, issued a decision that the plaintiff clearly proved Intel discriminated and retaliation against him, however the Labor Judge surprisingly justified Intels actions due to their lack of trust in the plaintiff as a result of his whistle-blowing. Plaintiff Ammar Halloum filed an appeal with the Administrative Review Board of the Labor Department demanding that the decision be reversed since it is a matter of Law rule against a company that was found discriminating and retaliating against an employee for participating in protected activities.

The plaintiff has a second lawsuit pending against Intel Corporation for religious and national origin discrimination. Case No. CIV-02-02245-PHX
