Workshop Teaches Simple Movement Techniques That Switch on Learning

Thats what youll learn to do at the upcoming workshop, Introduction to Brain Gym®, at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on July 14, 2004. The techniques of Brain Gym are effective with people of all ages who have been labeled as learning-disabled, hyperactive (ADHD), or developmentally delayed, as well as with those who simply want to hone their mental agility to be at their best.

The techniques of Brain Gym are effective with people of all ages who have been labeled as learning-disabled, hyperactive (ADHD), or developmentally delayed, as well as with those who simply want to hone their mental agility to be at their best.

The Brain Gym process helps learners of all ages to quickly and easily overcome learning blocks and activate the potential of their brain in the way nature intended--through movement. Participants will come away from this workshop with information and tools they can use right away, for themselves and with their friends, family, and students

Used in schools, homes, sports, and businesses in more than eighty-five countries, the Brain Gym® program does not rely on drill and practice to improve academics. Rather, it works by helping the brain prepare for learning. Once the brain has prepared, the ability to read, write, comprehend, and focus simply and naturally emerges.

Brain Gym is easy to learn, fun to use, and requires no special equipment. It supplements other areas of the school curriculum, and simply greases the wheels" of learning.

This workshop will precede the 2004 International Brain Gym® conference, to be held July 15-18, also at Marquette University. The conference draws parents, educators, specialists, and novices to the field from all around the world. With his wife, collaborator, and coauthor, Gail Dennison, Dr. Paul Dennison, a learning and reading specialist in Ventura, California, developed the Brain Gym® program from his twenty-five years of clinical research with children and adults with learning disabilities such as dyslexia. The Dennisons found that specific simple physical movements were the key to activating the potential of the brain, even to the point of overcoming chronic blocks in reading, writing, and behavior.
