(PRWEB) July 6, 2004 -- Sara Hebert, former director of the governments Transportation and Security Administration (TSA) award-winning e-Government program, will join NPower as Executive Director beginning in mid-August. With experience in e-business, marketing and nonprofit management, Ms. Hebert brings best practices from several sectors to the nonprofit technology assistance provider that has helped thousands of nonprofits use technology to better serve their communities.

Were thrilled to have Sara join us," said NPower board co-president Darren Huston. Her background and her ability to envision and mobilize technologys transformative power make her a great fit to lead NPower into its next stage of development."

Ms. Hebert brings to her new role significant experience in effective use of technology to serve constituents needs. Most recently, she established and directed an e-Government program designed to better protect transportation services by efficiently sharing information via intranets and extranets with TSA stakeholders, including employees, contractors and the general public. Drawing on e-business best practices, Ms. Hebert and her team quickly built a new transactions infrastructure, including an innovative common platform that facilitates data integration, to support agency-wide business operations.

Ms. Hebert shares NPowers conviction that technology can transform how organizations serve their communities. In fact, both NPower and the e-Gov program were named Computerworld Honors Laureates in 2003 for their outstanding applications of information technology.

The NPower Network of twelve local NPower programs has served over 6,000 nonprofits with hands-on technology assistance in the past five years. Joan Fanning, founder and Executive Director of NPower since 1999, stepped down in April and has been working with interim Executive Director Jennifer Bright on several contract projects during the transition to new leadership.

Ms. Hebert earned a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Yale School of Management, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Mount St. Marys College in Los Angeles.
