North Carolina Social Psychologist Launches PsychedOut.Org
PsychedOut.Org goes live. Holly Springs resident and social psychologist Stephanie Weeks launches informational website for parents, students, and teachers. PsychedOut.Org provides visitors with free research-based tools and tips for understanding human behavior within the social context.
Holly Springs, NC (PRWEB) July 5, 2004 -- Each audience (parents, students, and teachers) has its own discussion board, Q&A area, and additional resources. Content is updated weekly and currently includes poor study habits and relationship issues (for students), television violence and childhood aggression (for parents), and engaging students in research processes and raising standards (for teachers).
Following the American Psychological Associations example for the giving away" of psychology, PsychedOut.Org seeks to inform on, and develop a greater appreciation for the role of, the environment in shaping normal human behavior. All issues covered are grounded in social cognition and development theory and draw on contemporary research while maintaining an atmosphere of fun and engagement. Visitors are encouraged to interact with one another and with Weeks on issues of relevance to them personally.
Weeks recently moved to Holly Springs from neighboring Fuquay-Varina. In addition to PsychedOut.Org, she is currently preparing to begin promoting the release of her first novel Triplex Coniunctio with a kick-off at Lazy Lion Books on Main Street in August.
