Mystery, Romance, and Rev. Rumi
The Rain Tree by Andy Murphy is a multi-cultural murder mystery set on an exotic Caribbean island. In this old-fashioned whodunit, an attractive female reverend solves a crime, finds romance, and helps a U.S. Senate candidate find his moral compass.
(PRWEB) July 5, 2004 -- Youre a new minister and your best friend is accused of murder. How can you not help?
At 31, Rev. Rumi was inexperienced at saving souls but good at solving crimes. Starting her first Stateside church assignment, Rumi misses the action of detective work, her previous profession. So when Emily, her dearest childhood friend, is accused of murder, Rumi springs into action.
The action takes place largely on Saman-an independent country that has modeled its government and economy on the original US model with maximum economic and personal liberty; and the Samanis have added a few free-market twists of their own. In particular, their take on restorative justice could be a model for our own country.
Four suspects emerge including Rumis mother, several life-long friends, and a handsome and talented Arawak chef who makes her heart sing. Balancing her spiritual calling with her romantic entanglements, Rumi knows that someone close to her is a murderer.
In a thrilling finale, Rumi confronts the killer aided by her two comrades, Lorena, a Korean on the lam, and Sarah, a Black FBI agent.
