This is the second program hosted by the Mentoring committee in 2004. Below is information on the Metro NY Chapter and the ELC.
On July 27, 2004 the Metro NY Chapter of the NBMBAA partnering with the Executive Leadership Council will be presenting a Corporate-Mentoring program at the New York Times building located at 229 W. 43rd Street, New York, NY. The CEO Roundtable discussion will begin at 6:00 PM and End at 9:00 PM. Confirmed panelists for this event include Carl Brooks, President of Executive Leadership Council and Foundation, Jack Brennan, CEO of The Vanguard Group, Kip Condron, CEO of AXA Financial, and Scott Heekin-Canedy, President and General Manager of the NY Times.
Corporate Mentoring Program
The Corporate Mentoring Program is a partnership between The Metro New York Chapter of the National Black MBA Association and the Executive Leadership Council & Foundation (ELC). The ELC is an organization that provides African-American executives with a network and leadership forum that adds perspective and direction to the achievement of excellence in business, economic and public policy for the African-American community, their corporations and the community at large. The Metro New York Chapter strives to position itself as the premier business organization in the Metro New York professional community. The Chapter creates and cultivates strong relationships with the members, corporate and community partners and institutional partners through leadership, collaboration, and mutually beneficial programs and services.
Mission Statement
The goal of the Corporate Mentoring Program is to align members of the Metro New York Chapter with senior business executives who are willing to offer professional development strategies and career advice. It is an opportunity for mentees to develop a greater networking base for career advancement into senior level positions. It is a program that encourages personal, one-to-one interaction.
