Stop Sending Money to Other Countries. Lets fix the problems here at home first.

How can we fix the worlds problems,end suffereing it other parts of the world when we can not fix our own problems and end the suffering of the people of the United States. Lets fix Our problems and end our peoples suffering first then we will be better equiped to aid the rest of the world...

(PRWEB) July 6, 2004 -- Since first meeting Katelynn and placing her on the web site, putting out over 40,000 mailers 300,000 e-mails and 700 press releases we have received a total of $50.00 in donations, have been turn down 7 time from outsource funding agencies, and have been either no answered or turned down by over 500 corporations, both The American Cancer Society and Ronald McDonald have asked that we remove their logos from our letterhead and web site. I believe this to be mostly caused (although I don't know for sure) by Angel Flight USA who want to be the only no cost provider in the United States even though they cannot and will not provide service to anyone who:

Needs in flight medical attention
needs a stretcher or wheel chair
has to travel more than 500 miles one way
has more than one person and more than 40 pounds of luggage accompanying them

In Katelynns case the trip from Denver NC. (which has an airport we can fly into) to Iowa City Iowa is over 750 nautical miles (or around 860 statue mile) which if Angel Flight USA would fly you would take around 12 hours with fuel stops, and only you and Katelynn would beable to travel. The same trip would take us between 3 and 31/2 hours would require no fuel stops so it would be direct, and you would be able to take all your children with you.

We have tried everything I know to raise the $4,000.00 it would require to make this trip possible for you but haven't had much luck, even the newspapers, radio and TV stations in N.C. refused to run or air anything about us or Katelynn and what was needed... press release were even distributed though an AP wire service and even though were read they were never published, the only paper that published Katelynn,s story was a small paper in North Texas.

If you have any ideas or know anyone or maybe Katelynn's case worked may have ideas or know some way to get funding for this flight please feel free to move forward with it and just drop me a line.

The reason I haven't written earlier is I have been traveling a lot looking for funding. I will be in Reno this coming week, Nevada has shown a real interest in our service, with out ever flying a patient from Nevada their media has given us TV radio and Newspaper time, and there are several of the major Las Vegas and Reno, Carson City TV stations that wish to do a major story on our service. They want to video everything from us flying in to pick-up a patient, be on the flight filming all the way through to patient drop off. I guess this has sparked some interest in Nevada legislation which is why I am going to Reno this week. The only problem with this I see is if we move to Nevada this will shut down east coast pick-up and transport service ( unless we are flying in to drop off) until we can get funded and establish a east coast base of operations.

I am sorry that the news is not good it breaks my heart every time I have to send a letter like this and it is happening all to often. Everyone seems to feel like the US has to save the world and sends billions of dollars a year to other countries and gives non profit organization 10 tens of millions of dollars a year all of which is also used and sent to other countries. I think this is wrong how can we as a nation hope to save the world and fix it's problems and end it's suffering, when we can't do it here at home. I think our government and the funding agencies need to start here first, let's fix our problem and end our peoples suffering first and when we have that right then we can fix the rest of the world. Organizations that service the people of the US exclusively find it hard, almost impossible to get funding from anyone.
