The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute Band, BAD MEDICINE still at the top of the heap.
Nothing says summer like Bon Jovi and the Boardwalk. But while the renowned Jersey rockers take a well-deserved year off, a crowded tribute scene has room for only one champion: BAD MEDICINE. The only tribute band to be officially acknowledged by Jon Bon Jovi, his band, and his staff is following up their recent performance at the first official Philadelphia Soul tailgate party (see: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2004/4/prwebxml119725.php) by launching a series of dates in Atlantic City.
Only a few years after Bon Jovi's own first performance in Atlantic City, BAD MEDICINE will follow in their footsteps with appearances at Harrah's Casino in the Eden Lounge at 8 PM on Friday, July 9, and Saturday, July 10. An encore Atlantic City performance is scheduled for July 29 at Caesar's on the Boardwalk from 5 to 8 PM.
BAD MEDICINE has enjoyed a reputation throughout the tri-state area as "The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute Band" and through their association with New York's Coallier Entertainment (Thin Lizzy, Dee Snider, Angel) have become a regular fixture at venues which do not usually book tribute/cover artists, such as B.B. Kings (New York City, NY), The Starland Ballroom (Sayreville, NJ) and The Stone Pony (Asbury Park, NJ).
Steve Sage, founding member of BAD MEDICINE, holds no illusions about his position in the local music scene and the perception of BAD MEDICINE's revolving lineup. "Success in the music industry is an extremely important goal in each of our lives. But this is a Tribute Band, and even though it's extremely rewarding it is not the way to achieve fame, fortune or the kind of success we all hope for. As a result, it is important to keep our priorities straight.
The demand for BAD MEDICINE is overwhelming, but we still want to deliver a great show. So I've found what works for us is to incorporate understudies for each part onstage. That way there is no need to worry if someone has another opportunity presented to them, like when Steve Frangadakis went out with Bret Michaels on his solo tour.
I've found that fans have taken to all our players; each member has their group of fans. Everybody gets what they want, and the show goes on. A tribute act means bringing the audience the whole package. It's a part of the job."
BAD MEDICINE is: Steve Sage (vocals, guitar), Steve Frangadakis (lead guitar, backing vocals), John Cappadonna (drums), Rob Demartino (bass), and Josh Pincus (keyboard). Press kits, review videos, and interviews with Steve Sage and Steve Frangadakis are available on request.
