The LEnfant Trust and Benjamin Moore Paints Partner to Support Historic Preservation in Washington DC

The L'Enfant Trust, a Washington DC conservation easement holding nonprofit organization has partnered with Benjamin Moore Paints to provide its donors with a complimentary personal color viewer CD.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) July 7, 2004 -- The LEnfant Trust (www.lenfant.org), a Washington DC-based nonprofit organization that promotes historic preservation, has partnered with Benjamin Moore Paints to provide historic property owners a valuable tool in maintaining the integrity of their buildings.

Historic property owners can take advantage of an important historic preservation opportunity and realize a substantial tax benefit by donating a conservation easement that forever protects the façade of their buildings. The LEnfant Trust has accepted donations and monitored their easemented properties for over twenty-five years. The Trust aides property owners in determining what kinds of changes can be made to the exteriors of their buildings while maintaining the historic nature of the properties. Paint, of course, is one of the primary methods of changing a propertys appearance.

The LEnfant Trust has partnered with friends at Benjamin Moore Paints to provide each property owner a Personal Color Viewer CD from Benjamin Moore. This invaluable tool allows owners to see their properties in a variety of different colors by:

•   Painting their own digital photograph from a digital camera, scan or CD
•   Painting dramatic Before and After" presentations
•   Painting an unlimited number of pictures
•   Use of over 3,000 Benjamin Moore paint colors

Before a can of paint is purchased, the property owner will be able to see the finished product" without lifting a finger.

The L'Enfant Trust is a publicly supported 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization founded in 1978 to protect and promote the beauty of Washington's streets, or in the language of its charter, to "promote a public aesthetic in land use planning." Named after the planner of the federal city, Pierre L'Enfant, the Trust has pioneered the use of the Conservation Easement. The L'Enfant Trust now provides responsible, community stewardship for over 700 Washington D.C. properties protected by Conservation Easements.

Benjamin Moore & Co., a Berkshire Hathaway company, founded in 1883, is one of the countrys leading manufacturers of premium quality commercial, architectural and industrial coatings. Benjamin Moore products are available at authorized independent paint and decorating retailers throughout North America.
