New Book Release - To Liberia, Destiny's Timing by Victoria Lang
Learn a little-known part of black American History mixed with
African Folklore.
(PRWEB) July 8, 2004 -- Has anyone written about the black american freed slaves who ventured to West Africa in the early 19th Century and founded the Republic of Liberia in 1848? This is a part of black American history very little is heard of.
Victoria Langs new book To Liberia, Destinys Timing, highlights some of the conflicts underlying todays civil war in Liberia. This adventure story, mixed with African folklore, is a light satire about the founding of the Republic.
Important information contained in the book includes names of persons who played roles in the founding of the Republic - Matilda Newport, black American heroine who saved the Republic from being wiped out, Jehudi Ashmun, a white Jew who helped found the Republic, as well as tribal kings at the time. All are characters in the book.
