VeriLAN Successfully Interconnects Seven Carrier Labs Worldwide into One Secure Private Network for Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) Worldwide Interop Demo at SUPERCOMM 2004
VeriLAN, Inc., created secure tunnels to connect Verizon, NTT Laboratories, KDDI R&D Laboratories, Telecom Italia, and three other multi-national carriers, into one secure worldwide virtual private network. This industry-first network allowed the OIF participating member companies to demonstrate true multi-carrier (7), multi-vendor (15) global connectivity for optical networking interoperability at SUPERCOMM 2004 in Chicago, IL.
Portland, OR (PRWEB) July 9, 2004 -- Steven Schroedl, President of VeriLAN Inc., stated, "This very successful industry first project was a technical challenge for all involved and working with seven of the world's largest telecom carriers was an incredible opportunity. The VeriLAN staff created worldwide IPsec tunnels to bridge the each carrier site and the SUPERCOMM OIF Booth into a secure network." Mr. Schroedl added, "The OIF contracted with us to install, configure, test and support an IPsec network that allowed the participating members to turn up optical connections around the world in real-time. This was successfully demonstrated at the OIF booth at SUPERCOMM 2004."
John McDonough, Cisco Systems and Vice President of the Optical Internetworking Forum said, "VeriLAN is a well known vendor to the OIF, and we have come to rely on their technical experience and support over the years. A network connecting many of the worlds largest carriers into one secure network is a first for the telecom industry. VeriLAN has helped the OIF demonstrate how carriers and suppliers can work together to bring new services and functionality to the marketplace. VeriLAN helped the OIF meet the demonstrations technical challenges without compromising tight deadline schedules for this event. We look forward to a continuing working relationship with VeriLAN."
