GameToys.com adds XaviX Virtual Reality Gaming

GameToys.com, the leading distributor of video gaming products, with the lowest price guarantee, has added XaviX Virtual Reality Gaming products to it long list of video game offerings.

(PRWEB) July 9, 2004 -- GameToys.com, the low price leader of video games has inked a deal to carry the newest revolution in virtual reality gaming, namely SSD's Xavix (pronounced ZA-vix).

XaviX technology promises to bring the movement back into the virtual reality gaming. From VR Bowling, Baseball and Tennis, this format has garnered alot of attention. "At the recent XaviX Games CES booth, Steve Garvey, former Los Angeles Dodger and San Diego Padre was seen play XaniX Baseball with his son, Ryan", said Todd Gale, owner of GameToys.com. "What a thrill to watch". "The accuracy, the style and the realism is just amazing", Mr. Gale added.

"We intend to carry the current available units, Baseball, Bowling and Tennis and add the additional units as they become available."

The base unit is called PORT and allows the cartridge modules to plug in and sense the various requirements of the devices.

With XaniX Baseball, Port senses velocity and swing angle to judge whether you hit it out of park or get "the whiff." XaviX Baseball even adds a ball peripheral to toss, too.

There are nine different pitches to choose from -- including slider, curve, and fastball -- and two batting options -- bunt or full swing. Both ball and bat are wireless and battery operated.

XaviX Bowling may be the most fun of the three titles. Grip a smaller version of a bowling ball, line up your shot, and swing. You don't want to let go of the wireless ball, however -- unless you enjoy property damage. There are eight different characters, one to six humans can play, and you can adjust the hook of your shot to hit the pocket the sweetest.

Finally, there's XaviX Tennis, with its two racquetball-sized rackets. Again, you just swing them as you would in real life, and PORT takes care of the rest. The only other function is hitting a button above the handle to toss the ball up for serving.

XaviX Tennis has 20 different players to choose from, with 10 from each gender. You can also pick between three surface types and four courts. Obviously, having two rackets means multiplayer is available, though it's unclear how this affects the first-person perspective you see in single-player.

The unit, which debuts this summer, is available for pre-order now on the GameToys.com website. GameToys.com will offer it for $ 67.00. The three games will sell on GameToys.com for $47.99 each, with included peripherals.
