July 8, 2004. Edward Lehman of China law firm Lehman, Lee and Xu in conjunction with Elizabeth Bridge of Milwaukee firm Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek on issues facing Chinese businesses who are looking to invest in the United States
(PRWEB) July 10, 2004 -- With most of the investment between China and USA being to a large extent one way, it was refreshing to have two prominent law firms advise an audience on investment going the other way.
Edward Lehman, the Managing Partner of China law firm Lehman, Lee and Xu and Elizabeth Bridge of Milwaukee Firm Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek gave an address at the offices of the World Trade Center Club in Beijing. Among the topics covered was an analysis of company structures available in the US in addition to a comparative study of the intellectual property laws of the two countries.
Among the companies attending were Wanxiang-Horton Insurance Group, Greentree Financial Group and MetalChina Metal and Mining Capital Inc. It was commented that more and more Chinese companies are looking to invest abroad to acquire access to markets and materials and that the US would be a natural destination for such activity.
At the end of the presentation Ms Bridge presented to Mr Lehman a plaque from the Governor of Wisconsin commemorating the alliance between Lehman, Lee and Xu and Whyte Hirschboeck and Dudek
