Become the First Keene Karaoke Idol!

Ever sing in shower? Wish you could join the ranks of Kelly, Ruben and Fantasia? This is your chance for summer fun and fame!

(PRWEB) July 10, 2004 -- Do you sing in the shower or on stage? Ever wish you could join the ranks of Kelly, Ruben, Clay and Fantasia? Heres your chance to become the very first Keene Karaoke Idol, performing your favorite songs while raising much-needed funds that support the work of AIDS Services for the Monadnock Region.

Elimination rounds begin on Friday evening, July 16 and occur on 4 consecutive Fridays at Club Moose, located at the Moose Lodge, Park Avenue in Keene. On July 16, contestants in 5 age groups (14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+) will have their first opportunity to perform for the audience, when popular opinion will help to choose the ongoing finalists who will continue through to the next elimination rounds on Friday July 23, July 30 and August 6. The Grand Prize Finale, where cash and prizes will be awarded, occurs at the Best Western Sovereign Hotel on Sunday, August 15, at which time Keenes IDOL and runner-up will be chosen from among the five finalists, one performer from each age group.

Guest judges from Keenes vibrant performing community will appear each week to offer commentary, and karaoke services will be provided by the popular duo from Ron and Marys Karaoke. Popular vote will be tallied online at www.keeneonline.com/idol.

Call 357-6855 immediately to register as a contestant by phone, or register on-site between 5-7pm on Friday, July 16. Registration fee is $30 for participants. Admission for patrons (tables seat 6-8) can be reserved for $10/ticket by calling 357-6855. Tickets can be purchased at the door, but seating is limited and reservations will have preference. Doors open at 6:30pm and the show begins at 7:30pm. Bring your own picnic; all beverages sold through the Lodges cash bar.

AIDS Services for the Monadnock Region, founded in 1989, is a non-profit organization committed to serving people living with HIV/AIDS in Cheshire County, southern Sullivan County and western Hillsborough County. We offer free, anonymous HIV/STD testing in a confidential setting, educational programs, HIV+ speakers, and 200+ volumes in our lending library.
