Kenneth Anger's Legendary Lucifer Rising Soundtrack Released on Compact Disc
The first album recorded entirely within the confines of an American prison, Bobby BeauSoleil's haunting psychedelic score to Kenneth Anger's infamous underground film "Lucifer Rising" is now available on a special edition double CD.
Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) July 20, 2004 -- Nearly twenty-five years after the film's debut, Bobby BeauSoleil's original score for notorious underground filmmaker Kenneth Anger's classic "Lucifer Rising" is available on compact disc. Arcanum Entertainment is proud to present the definitive edition of Bobby BeauSoleil's haunting psychedelic masterpiece in a deluxe 2-disc fold-out digipak set. Disc one contains the original film soundtrack, performed entirely by inmates at the Deuel Vocational Institution in Tracy, California. In addition to rare material by Bobby BeauSoleil's first band The Orkustra, Disc two features a never before heard alternate version of the Lucifer Rising score recorded in 1967, the only surviving recording by San Francisco's legendary Magick Powerhouse of Oz.
A 28-page full-color booklet chronicles the history of these recordings and features an introduction by director Kenneth Anger, extensive liner notes by occult scholar Michael Moynihan, and a personal letter from Bobby BeauSoleil as well as dozens of rare photos and memorabilia.
In stores everywhere July 20th.
